WHY THIS CHORE
SHOW UP READY.
Widely regarded as the most important duathlon race on the planet — the sport's version of a World Championship marathon, minus the swim.

The Original Duathlon World Championship
Zofingen has hosted this race since 1989 and became the official World Championship venue in 1997 — for anyone serious about duathlon (run-bike-run, no swim), this is the race that matters most. The 2026 edition is confirmed as the 12th time the World Championship title has been decided here.
The Format
The Long Distance covers 10 km of running, 150 km of cycling, and a closing 30 km run — a genuinely brutal double-run structure that separates specialists from generalists. A Short Distance and relay format are also on offer for athletes who want the Zofingen experience without the full championship distance.
The Weekend
Powerman Saturday opens with PowerKids races and the Zofingen 5000 — a flat, fast 5 km town run — building toward Sunday's main event, where the world's best duathletes fight for World Championship medals through Zofingen's historic old town and the rolling Aargau countryside.
Who It's For
Over 400 athletes from roughly 40 nations compete in age-group categories alongside the elite field, all racing for World Championship medals in their category. If you've already got a solid running and cycling base and want a genuine World Championship start line without needing to swim, this is it.
Daily Chore Take
There's no bigger name in duathlon than Powerman Zofingen. For an athlete who loves the swim-free run-bike-run format, this is as close to the top of the sport as an age-grouper can get.
