Gravel's Actual World Championship
Now in its fifth edition (following Italy twice, Belgium, and the Netherlands), the UCI Gravel World Championships move outside Europe for the first time, to Nannup in Western Australia — a region already proven by the annual Seven gravel race as suited to exactly this kind of racing.
The Course
Organisers are promising a short, steep, technical profile — frequent punchy climbs rather than long sustained ascents, on largely unpaved roads, with October's moderate temperatures keeping the ground fast and dry.
Getting In
Qualification runs through UCI-sanctioned gravel events worldwide — finishing in the top 25% of your age/gender category at a qualifying race secures automatic eligibility.
Daily Chore Take
A genuine once-in-a-cycle destination event — if gravel is your sport and you can qualify, a rainbow-jersey world championship in Western Australia is worth building a whole season around.
