The Route
Start at 10:00 at the Festhalle in Westend. The route runs through Westend past the Opera and the Stock Exchange, then into Nordend after about 10 km with its architecture and parks, then south past the Museum of Applied Arts, the German Film Museum and the Städel Museum, along the Main, and finally back to the Festhalle. Fast and flat — the third-fastest city marathon in the world (course record by Wilson Kipsang, 2:03:42, 2011).
The Finish
The finish inside the historic Festhalle, over a red carpet with a light show and music, is considered one of the most spectacular anywhere — every finisher is celebrated, whether a three-hour or six-hour runner.

History
Founded in 1981, the Mainova Frankfurt Marathon is Germany's longest continuously held city marathon and, with over 20,000 participants, the country's second-largest.
Registration
Start fees are tiered — the earlier you register, the cheaper it gets. Eligible runners must be born in 2008 or earlier. The bib number doubles as a ticket across the entire RMV public transport network.
Around the Event
Around 90 activity points along the route make the marathon the longest street festival of the year in Frankfurt.
