Riverside, Flat and Fast
Established in 2007, the Porto Half Marathon has grown into one of Portugal's biggest running events — a flat, fast 21km route along the Rio Douro, crossing between Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia past the iconic Dom Luís Bridge and Porto's famous port wine cellars.
Real Scale
Over 11,000 runners take part annually between the half marathon and 6km mini-marathon, with a genuinely festive, international atmosphere along the entire riverside route.
Daily Chore Take
The flat course profile makes this a smart PB-hunting choice — pair it with a few extra days in Porto for the wine cellars themselves, post-race.
